Pixel Portraits Experiments

· 2 min read

First experiments making pixel portraits.

We've run a few Pixel Portraits making community events now. E.g. In Kendal Library and in Barrow Library.

But to figure out how to do it we made a few at home first using family to judge speed etc.

Jennie's Mum, visiting for xmas became our first subject. I had to remove the shadows from the photo.

Pixelated grandma!

After mixing the paint we all started painting squares with a pleasing range of perfectionism / slapdashism.

It took about an hour and a half and was really pleasing. Test passed.

The finished 9 sheet picture taped together on the wall.
