Pixel Portrait Experiments

First experiments making pixel portraits.

Three pictures in one. People painting, finished picture on table, finished picture on wall.

We’ve run a few Pixel Portraits making community events now. E.g. In Kendal Library and in Barrow Library.

But to figure out how to do it we made a few at home first using family to judge speed etc.

After mixing the paint we all started painting squares with a pleasing range of perfectionism / slapdashism.

It took about an hour and a half and was really pleasing. Test passed.
